Delivered new through Maranello Concessionaires Ltd in Egham and first registered in January 1971, this example — chassis No. 13945 — is one of just 33 right-hand-drive ‘Plexiglass’ Daytonas ever produced-eight now remain the UK taxed/ SORN'd . These early examples featured the beautifully sculpted fixed headlamp design enclosed under clear Perspex covers, a feature that was discontinued shortly after due to U. S. regulatory changes mandating retractable pop-up lamps. Today, these “Plexiglass” Daytonas are considered the most visually pure and collectible iterations of the model, celebrated for their elegant front-end design and rarity.
This particular Daytona has an impeccable three-owner provenance, having remained in the care of its current custodian since 1982. Over its lifetime, it has covered a carefully documented 19, 215 miles (30, 917 km), a testament to both its originality and cherished preservation.
