Description
Beginning in the 1960s with BMW engine tuning, Alpina went on to co-develop the legendary BMW 3. 0 CSL, before dominating touring car racing throughout the 1970s. That golden era established the company not merely as a tuner, but as a manufacturer that understood victory at the highest level.
After a hiatus of more than two decades, Alpina returned to racing in 2009. In 2011, the B6 GT3 claimed the ADAC GT Masters championship title. To commemorate the historic win, they produced just 99 examples of the B3 GT3.
Rather than selecting a large GT platform, Alpina deliberately chose the compact and lightweight B3 as its foundation. The aim was clear: to translate the sharp handling and intuitive control honed on the racetrack into a form that could be fully experienced on public roads.
This particular example is serial number 32, one of only 30 units officially imported into Japan.
The exterior is distinguished by GT3-specific aerodynamic components, including front canards and a prominent rear wing, lending it an unmistakably purposeful presence. Yet once underway, the refined ride quality characteristic of Alpina remains very much intact.
At ignition, the Akrapovič titanium exhaust emits a crisp, resonant note that immediately stirs the senses.
Its condition is especially noteworthy. As it was designed with performance driving in mind, many examples on the market have accumulated significant mileage. This car, however, has covered a mere 28, 465 km. Complete service documentation further attests to the meticulous care of its previous custodians, preserving a standard befitting a true collector’s piece.
The B3 GT3 represents Alpina’s racing spirit in its purest road-going form - combining historic rarity with performance that remains formidable even by modern standards. A singular and exceptional machine.
