Exterior / Body:
This model is a March 1966 MG B in ‘Signal Red’. The repaint has a uniform finish and the varnish shows excellent gloss. After a professional polish with orbital machine, we noted a few paint defects on the bonnet, some defects corrected on the rear wing edges and on the driver-side door edge.
The chrome bumpers are well positioned and in excellent condition despite some light oxidation marks.
Front chrome overriders are in good condition.
Rear overriders and grille have a few minor dings.
Chrome mirrors show light oxidation marks.
Lucas fog lights are in good working order.
The black faux leather hood is in very good condition.
Its installation is easy and its seal is in line with era standards.
The mica screens are in good condition despite slight yellowing.
This example is equipped with a black faux leather hood cover in good condition.
The 14’’ chrome wire wheels are new and their chrome knock-offs are in good condition, despite some scuff marks.
The set is fitted with 4 new tyres.
This example retains its spare wheel.

Interior:
The cabin presents well.
The Black leather upholstery with red piping is in very good condition with a uniform patina.
The door panels are in good condition, with no marks of wear inside or sagging.
Door sills show some signs of use.
The dashboard and its cap are in very good condition; the cap was replaced in 2024.
All Smiths instruments are fully functional, apart from the backlighting.
This car is fitted with a 3-spoke wooden steering wheel in MOTOLITA style.
The wheel is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks.
MG leather gear knob shows even patina of use.
The MP3/ USB/ S-CARD radio is fully functional.
Black carpets are in good condition with no major wear or fading.
Among the interior equipment of interest are the MOTOLITA wooden steering wheel and the MP3/ USB/ S-CARD radio.
Chassis:
Lift confirms the shell is solid, with no visible accident damage or structural corrosion.
The boot floor was replaced in 2024.
The fundamentals—valances, floors, sills, wheel arches and longitudinals—are in good order.
Usage reserve: as a rule we cannot guarantee these elements beyond their good visual and functional condition as tested on the road and on the hoist.
During the dynamic test, no abnormal noises were detected from the body or suspension components (ball joints, bushings, etc.).
Braking is balanced, with no vibrations or unusual noises.
Front discs and pads are new.
Rears drums are fully functional and leak-free.
Front suspension was replaced in 2024.
A technical inspection prior to delivery will confirm overall operation.
Engine / Transmission:
The mechanics were restored in 2024. The following work was carried out: fitting a new lead-free 98 cylinder head, new head gasket, removal and opening of the engine block, installation of 4 new pistons and 4 sets of new rings, honing of the 4 cylinders, inspection and rectification of the crankshaft.
NOTE: Break-in period with proper warming is required: 500 km at up to 2, 500 rpm, then 1, 000 km at up to 3, 500 rpm followed by an oil change and head tightness check.
The engine runs perfectly.
The 4-cylinder starts immediately, with no smoke or unusual noises, and idle is stable, as shown in the 360° video taken with the engine running at the start of the slideshow.
Under way, the engine revs smoothly with no hiccups or overheating.
Mechanical reliability is enhanced by an additional electric fan and an auxiliary oil radiator.
This example also features an interesting option: a new lead-free 98 cylinder head.
The gearbox operates perfectly.
All four gears engage and disengage smoothly, particularly the synchros.
Clutch bite is good. The complete kit was replaced in 2024: disc + mechanism + release bearing.
As is common with these models, engine/ gearbox/ axle seals are only average.
