Exterior / Body:
The model presented here is a January 1971 MG B in the period 'Muddy orange' colour.
The paintwork shows a uniform hue and the varnish a superb gloss.
After a professional polish performed by our workshop using an orbital polisher, we noted a small scratch at the top of the front right door (1 cm) and 3 small indentations at the top of the front right wing.
The chrome bumpers and their guards are in good condition and properly aligned. The rear bumper shows surface oxidation.
The grille and the driver’s door trim show a few minor dings.
This example is equipped with several interesting vintage fittings such as plexiglass headlight bubbles, leather hood straps, and the chrome boot rack (luggage rack) in perfect condition.
The hood in black faux leather is in good presentation condition.
Its installation is easy and its seal complies with period norms.
This example is equipped with a black faux leather hood cover showing a uniform patina of use.
The 4 wire wheels painted 14'' and their chrome knock-offs are in very good condition, with no impact marks or deformation.
The UNIROYAL tyres show 40% wear at the front and 30% wear at the rear.
This example has retained its spare wheel and original jack.

Black faux leather upholstery with matching piping shows a uniform patina.

The door cards are in excellent condition, with no signs of access or sagging.
The dashboard and its binnacle are in good display condition.
We noted a small nick on the passenger-side dashboard.
All SMITHS onboard instrumentation is fully functional.
The MG leather three-spoke steering wheel is also in good condition and shows uniform patina.
The bakelite gear knob is in good condition.
The stainless steel door sills are in excellent condition.
The Black carpets are in good condition, with no major wear or discoloration.
Among the interior features of interest to which this example is equipped are: headrests, the MG leather three-spoke steering wheel, and the central armrest.
Chassis:
Lifting onto the ramp confirms a healthy body with no visible accident history or structural corrosion.
Fundamentals: sills, floor pans, lower wings, wheel arches and longs are in good condition.
Usage reserve: by principle we cannot guarantee these elements beyond their visual and functional good order validated during road test and ramp inspection.
During the dynamic test, no abnormal noise from the body or running gear (ball joints, bushings...) was reported.
Braking is balanced, with no vibrations or abnormal noises.
Front brake discs wear under 20% and their pads under 50%.
The rear drums are fully functional with no signs of seepage.
The technical inspection prior to delivery will confirm overall operation.
Engine / Transmission:
The mechanicals operate perfectly.
Compression checks and the road test performed by our workshop confirm a healthy engine block.
The 4-cylinder starts immediately, with no smoke or suspicious noises and idle is stable as confirmed by the 360° video with the engine running, available at the start of the slideshow.
On the move, the engine revs freely without hiccups or overheating.
Mechanical reliability is enhanced by the presence of an additional oil radiator and electronic ignition.
The engine note is improved by the stainless steel exhaust.
The gearbox operates perfectly.
All four gears engage and disengage smoothly, particularly the synchros.
Clutch bite is good.
As is common with this model, engine/ gearbox/ differential sealing remains average.
