Description
Our BMW Z1 is a very beautiful example of French origin, registered on 23 March 1990. Presented in its original Top-Red colour, paired with a grey interior in leather and nubuck, this car perfectly illustrates the Z1’s very particular spirit: an atypical roadster, bold and resolutely apart in BMW history. Delivered new to the BMW Valmotors dealership, ex-MDA, in Petit-Forêt in the North, this Z1 has a singular history. It remained on display at the dealership for many years before being sold to its first owner in 2004. Since then it has had only three owners, partly explaining its low current mileage of only 26, 500 kilometres and its pristine condition. Produced in around 8, 000 units, the Z1 remains one of BMW’s most original models, notably thanks to its composite-material body, its specific chassis and its famous electrically retractable doors. This exemplar is among the rare red Z1s delivered in France. On board, there is well-preserved leather and nubuck upholstery, functional instrumentation, a low driving position and that unique door cinematics that fully contribute to the model’s charm. The car file highlights several significant interventions, including the replacement of the two front wings in 2019 at BMW Paris Vélizy (a known issue on BMW Z1s), the replacement of the timing belt and its ancillaries in 2023 at BMW MINI Caen, as well as a recent service performed in January 2025 by Garage Saint-Antoine, a BMW MINI specialist in Paris. This exemplar also comes with its complete documentation, service book and a file of invoices. The car comes with several original items, including its two sets of keys, its toolkit, jack, warning triangle and spare wheel with cover. While BMW Z1s are now particularly sought after for their rarity, unique concept and timeless styling, this exemplar stands out for its unusual history, its French origin, its Top-Red colour, its low mileage and its very handsome presentation. A superb opportunity to acquire one of the most distinctive roadsters in BMW history.
