This fantastic Jaguar E type (XK E in the US) Series 2 roadster was sold new in Connecticut, USA.
This wonderful Jaguar is a true time capsule: the car is largely original and comes from the second owner. The E type was purchased from the first (lady) owner in 2014 and shipped to the Netherlands, where it has been cherished by the second owner ever since. Everything on the car is original except the paintwork, which was renewed in 2015.
The inside of the bonnet still shows the original paint exactly as it left the factory in 1969.
The car has been very well serviced over the decades. In 2015, the odometer read 08, 462 miles; it currently reads 11, 096 miles. Judging by the condition of the car, the odometer has only completed one full rotation.
This Jaguar E type is still fitted to the original US specifications, with the correct Stromberg carburettors introduced on the Series 2 due to stricter American emission regulations.
The bodywork and chrome trim are in great condition; the original interior shows signs of previous use and a tear in the leather of the driver’s seat. Nothing a good upholsterer cannot repair: the leather interior can be brought back to top condition if desired.
Mechanically, the car is in good order, and it drives, sounds, and handles delightfully! The Series 2 E type introduced major improvements in cooling, braking, safety, comfort, and usability, while adopting a noticeably different appearance due to open headlights and larger rear lights. This fantastic Jaguar time capsule comes with the original hard top. This black top is in very good condition and gives the E type a stunning presence.
