Following the Bentley Series S, the Series T inherits all the technical innovations introduced by the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow of which it is the perfect twin. It is, however, meant to be more discreet with a less ostentatious grille. It still retains the same level of luxury, comfort and ease.
Iconic model, the Bentley T1 is the first monocoque in the history of the British manufacturer. Powered by a 6. 3 L V8 with 200 hp, it features an automatic transmission, power steering and four-wheel disc brakes. Thus it combines comfort and top‑tier performance for its era.
Delivered new in 1974 to its first French owner by Franco Britannic, our example has had five owners since its first registration. Its service file, including numerous invoices, dates back to 2001.
In 2021 it benefited from a major overhaul at the Bentley dealership in Malaga, covering the flush of all fluids, carburation, transmission, gearbox sump seal, air conditioning, replacement of the alternator, air conditioning compressor and power steering belts, as well as the water pump, for over €6, 000. The car has seen very little use since its purchase in 2023, but it has just undergone a recommissioning at Atelier 46.
Its bodywork today presents signs of use, with paint chips as well as corrosion traces on the bodywork and sills. Inside, the original upholstery is deliciously patinated. The finish on the wood veneers would benefit from a little attention, and a thorough cleaning would restore the cabin’s former luster. Much rarer and more exclusive than a Rolls‑Royce Silver Shadow, luxury saloons enthusiasts will not be mistaken.
