Description
This rare ‘time warp’ BMW 2002 Turbo is presented in totally unrestored condition. It’s an original UK car with a rear window sticker showing as supplied by Brasted Service Station Ltd, Kent with date of first registration as 1 August 1975. It is finished in classic Chamonix White with Black Vinyl Interior and the distinctive BMW Turbo Decals.
It is in totally original condition throughout and has been in single ownership since 20 September 1975 - having been first registered for a matter of weeks to the first Registered Keeper. It is accompanied by a 'diary' of notes detailing its maintenance history between 1975 to 2003 all handwritten by the Owner. The maintenance paperwork is accompanied by the original Blue vinyl BMW wallet containing the Owners Manual, Service Book and Radiomobile Guide, all of which are in great condition. There is a near-complete collection of Road Tax Discs right up to 2007 and MOT Certificates from 1979.
It has now covered just a little over 51, 000 miles with a recent MOT test on 8 June 2026 showing 51, 246 miles. There is also an original blue logbook showing the name of the first Registered Keeper and then the current Keeper since 20 September 1975.
The BMW 2002 Turbo launched in the UK in 1973 with just a brief production period halted prematurely as a result of the World oil crisis at that time. The number of vehicles surviving on the road is therefore very low with records showing that no more than 1660 models were manufactured in total. Over half a century ago it debuted on the UK market as the very first turbo-charged European production car and with its distinctive sporty decals, dogleg gearbox & boost gauge it was way beyond compared to anything at the time. The turbo technology bought a thrill to everyday driving that had never been experienced before and was a true landmark in BMW history - this outstandingly genuine car is a highly collectable example of that achievement.
