Description
Finished in (Q Special) Silver Fox with Obsidian Black and Spicy Red hides with a Cirrus Grey Alcantara headlining and in exceptional condition throughout, befitting the low mileage of just 8, 343 from new.
First shown to the public at the Geneva motorshow in 2010, the Cygnet was to be Aston Martins new city car, based on the successful Toyota iQ platform, although externally the Cygnet only shares a roof panel with the iQ, everything else is bespoke. All finished by Aston Martin technicians at the Gaydon factory and then painted in the same booth that was being used, at that time, for the One-77 hypercar, for the usual Aston-quality finish. Inside the cabin, the usual materials and high quality hand built finishing, expected of any other Aston Martin. Powered by a 1. 33-litre VVT engine, producing 97 bhp via either a six-speed manual or a CVT auto transmission, good enough for 106 mph and a 0-62 mph time of 11. 2 seconds.
At launch, probably the most controversial model, of Aston Martins history, less than 800 units for almost all markets, were built, with less than 200 staying in the UK. The Aston Martin Cygnet has become a notable and rare gem within the Aston Martin story and have over the last few years, acquired collector car status. The most depreciation proof city car of all time, possibly! Low mileage and particularly well-kept collector grade examples such as this example, have become increasingly difficult to source, production having ceased over 14 years ago.
The example we now offer is specified with the rarer 6-speed manual transmission. Only 1 in 4 Cygnet’s were built with manual gearboxes. Notable optional extras specified when new include; Dark chrome with piano black interior finish, indented leather seat inserts, 16” 8 spoke Graphite diamond turned wheels and satellite navigation. The combination of the Silver Fox exterior paint over Obsidian Black and Spicy Red hides making this example unique – confirmed by our friends at the Aston Martin Heritage Trust.
First supplied by Aston Martin in Edinburgh in 2011 and benefitting from regular servicing at Aston Martin agents – 12 service stamps in the owner’s manual and a collection of invoices in the history folder telling the story - this Cygnet is in exceptional condition throughout, almost undisguisable from new.
Combining a high level of equipment and luxurious interior, with a distinctively compact and stylish body, the Cygnet is perfectly suited for city or urban use, whilst carrying the cache of Aston Martin ownership.
Supplied to its next custodian with the original owner’s handbook, an extensive history file, battery conditioner and all spare keys.
Included in the sale is a manufacturer scheduled vehicle service, full vehicle preparation to our usual high standards, a 12-month warranty and fresh MoT certificate.
One of this finest quality examples we have handled and highly recommended, this tastefully finished baby swan, is available now for viewing and demonstration now at our Hertfordshire showrooms.
