The 2007–2008 Ford Shelby GT is a factory-authorized, limited-production performance variant of the fifth-generation Ford Mustang GT (S197 platform). Powered by Ford’s 4. 6-liter three-valve Modular V8 and paired with either a five-speed manual or automatic transmission, the Shelby GT received a comprehensive package of Shelby-developed performance upgrades, including a Ford Racing Power Pack, performance-tuned suspension, revised exhaust system, short-throw shifter (manual models), and distinctive Shelby-specific exterior and interior enhancements. The result was a more responsive, better-balanced Mustang that bridged the gap between the standard Mustang GT and the supercharged Shelby GT500. Production was limited to just 7, 865 examples over the two model years, with 5, 651 built for 2007 and 2, 214 for 2008, making the Shelby GT significantly rarer than many other modern Shelby models. Because each car was completed by Shelby Automobiles in Las Vegas and assigned its own Shelby serial (CSM) number, the 2007–2008 Ford Shelby GT has become a highly collectible model that combines performance engineering, exclusivity, and Shelby heritage.
