The Jaguar XJ (X350) from 2003–2009, was the third generation of the Jaguar XJ saloon. The XJ was available with a six-speed automatic transmission and a range of petrol and diesel engines. Noted for its advanced electrical systems and aluminium unibody chassis and bodywork, the XJ of this period was among the first for a mass-produced automobile. Air suspension was fitted at the front and rear, providing adaptive damping as well as rear self-levelling with computer-controlled ride height and suspension mode. Dynamic stability control as well as traction control were standard. Radar based adaptive cruise control was offered along with two-zone climate control as standard, with four-zone available on long-wheelbase models. An optional touchscreen interface controlled default settings, satellite navigation, the Alpine audio system, and Bluetooth telephone. Jaguar Voice offered voice control of many functions.
First registered on the 15th July 2004, chassis SAJAC72MX4VG27046 was supplied through the Jaguar Company Fleet Management centre in Lawford Heath, Warwickshire, and is believed to have been used by Jaguar company executives during the first three years of its life. Specified in ‘SE’ trim in the attractive colour scheme of Zircon blue complemented by a Dove grey leather interior. The original service book on file shows that the car has been meticulously maintained by Jaguar main dealers and specialists, and the most recent oil change service was performed at 106, 780 miles during April of this year.
Invoices are on file to show that in the previous and current ownership, the Jaguar has been the beneficiary of a complete new set of rear wishbones, a new battery, plus the fitment of a replacement gearbox and torque converter.
