Belgian endurance and rally champion Pierre Dieudonné shared his impressions of the new Testarossa, heir to the 512 BB, in Auto Hebdo, published in January 1985, from Ferrari's private Fiorano test track, where he had the opportunity to put the car through its paces. And what an impression it made!
He had nothing but praise for the Testarossa, lauding its exceptional driving qualities. After just one lap of the circuit, he felt completely confident pushing the car to its limits: handling, stability, balance, aerodynamics, power, torque, braking, temperature, suspension... few qualities escaped his praise. It was undoubtedly this confidence-inspiring road behavior, combined with the car's power and exceptional Pininfarina styling, that led its current owner to order it new from Garage Francorchamps in May 1990.
Finished in Rosso Corsa over its Nero leather interior, this Testarossa benefits from the virtues of single ownership since leaving Maranello: a history file that is as informative as it is compelling, including the original purchase invoice and original Certificate of Conformity, but above all its stamped service book and numerous invoices documenting the meticulous and regular maintenance carried out by an owner intent on keeping his car in excellent condition for at least 36 years. This exceptionally consistent maintenance was performed by the original official Ferrari dealer until 2000, after which specialists Gipimotor and L'Officina took over. The most recent service was carried out by Ferrari independent specialists L'Officina at 50, 688 kilometers in 2024, including replacement of the timing belts and tires, air conditioning service, replacement of the brake master cylinder, a complete brake fluid flush, and replacement of the fuel pump, all detailed on the invoice.
Showing just 51, 318 kilometers from new, a Testarossa with such low mileage, its matching-numbers engine and a single ownership by a prominent Belgian collector, combined with such a comprehensive history file and maintenance record, is an opportunity that presents itself about as often as a solar eclipse, especially when accompanied by a complete luggage set in its original dust bags, a second set of keys, and a Belgian technical inspection valid through 2028.
