Description

The Ferrari Testarossa is a Ferrari sports car from 1984. It is one of Ferrari's most famous models.

Like that of the 288 GTO, also released in 1984, the name of the Testarossa refers to a prestigious model from the 250 series, namely the 250 Testa Rossa. The name Testarossa means "Red Head" in Italian, referring to the red color of the valve covers (the cylinder heads are made of aluminum). The car was designed by Pininfarina, and one of the features that made it an icon of the 1980s is the distinctive air vents in the doors, which were also used in later models. These are also known as 'egg slicers'.

Additionally, the Testarossa, along with the inspired Ferrari 348, is one of the few models without the characteristic round taillights. This model is equipped with a twelve-cylinder engine. A total of 7, 177 examples of this model were produced. The 1984 and 1985 models had a single side mirror, on the driver's side, positioned halfway up the A-pillar.

In 1986, following several complaints from Testarossa owners, Ferrari decided to move the mirror to the usual spot at the bottom of the A-pillar and also install a right-hand side mirror. The Testarossa was the last 180° V12-cylinder (flat-lying) engine that Ferrari built from the 1980s to the present day, and in the final models delivered, it went by the names 512TR and 512M.

The Testarossa and the Berlinetta Boxer featured a 180° V12 engine, and thus not a 12-cylinder boxer engine, as the name might suggest.

In 1986, the only official Testarossa roadster was produced. It was for Gianni Agnelli, as he had been the director of Fiat for 20 years that year. Designer Pininfarina and other suppliers such as Koenig, Rankl, and Straman have also supplied roadsters, but these are not official Ferrari models.

The Ferrari Testarossa owes its popularity with the general public to the popular police series Miami Vice from the 1980s, in which it plays a prominent role.

This Ferrari Testarossa presented here is very special; it has had only one owner, and this is fully verifiable in the history provided with the car. Additionally, it has received all the maintenance required. When we acquired the car, we immediately commissioned the official Ferrari dealer Munsterhuis in Twente to perform a major service and replace the timing belt. The invoice for this is available. Furthermore, the file contains the official booklets containing the maintenance performed, the original purchase invoice, the TÜV, and records of regular maintenance. The bodywork has never sustained any damage and looks like new. This also applies to the black interior, which is finished entirely in leather. It goes without saying that the car drives, shifts, and steers like new. We are offering this Testarossa at a competitive price, so if you are looking for a fantastic Testarossa, don't wait too long.
