Description
Speedbroker is delighted to offer this Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X for sale on behalf of its current owner.
The Evolution X represented a fairly major change in direction for Mitsubishi. Where the Evo IX was the final development of the smaller, rawer and increasingly focused 4G63-powered formula, the X was designed to be a more complete and usable performance car.
It introduced the newer aluminium-block 4B11 turbocharged engine, a larger and more substantial platform, more sophisticated electronics and Mitsubishi’s S-AWC four-wheel-drive system. This particular example is also equipped with the SST twin-clutch transmission, offering rapid paddle-operated gear changes while making the Evo considerably easier to live with in everyday use.
It remained every inch an Evolution, but became a car you could genuinely use regularly rather than saving purely for the right road or the right occasion.
This example has covered 111, 300 miles and has had only two former keepers. The current owner purchased the car in 2023 and has now owned it for approximately three years.
The personalised registration EV02 ALG is included with the sale.
Chassis number: CZ4A-0006448
Largely Standard and Visually Original
One of the most appealing aspects of this particular Evo X is how close it remains to its original appearance.
So many of these cars have been extensively modified, remapped or altered over the years. This example still retains its original airbox and remains aesthetically standard, with none of the oversized body additions, aftermarket wheels or questionable styling changes often found on cars of this type.
The modifications that have been made are sensible and worthwhile rather than excessive. These include:
Milltek exhaust system
EBC front brake calipers
EBC floating front brake discs
Custom-made SST transmission cooler by 24/ 7 Motorsport
Nankang AS-2+ tyres fitted all round, all retaining good tread
The original exhaust and original brake components are also available with the car.
Service History and Maintenance
The car is accompanied by its original book pack and original service book.
The service history begins with its pre-delivery inspection by Ralliart UK and includes nine service stamps through to 2021. The earlier services were carried out by Mitsubishi UK, followed by recognised specialists and independent workshops.
During the current ownership, the car has been maintained by Auto Torque, with its most recent service carried out by Grip Lab in 2025. A four-wheel alignment was also completed approximately 1, 500 miles ago.
Further recent maintenance includes:
Replacement torque damper and associated work by Norton Tuning Solutions in March 2025
Transmission oil replaced in March 2025
Custom SST transmission cooler manufactured by 24/ 7 Motorsport
Recent servicing by Grip Lab
Alignment completed approximately 1, 500 miles ago
There are plenty of accompanying invoices, together with previous MOT paperwork and supporting history. The current MOT is valid until December.
An Honest Appraisal
As with every vehicle we represent, we would rather explain the car properly than hide important information within the small print.
The current owner purchased the Evo in 2023 with an AYC fault already present. This is a well-known issue on these cars, and the owner was advised that the repair could wait as it was not affecting the way the car drove.
The fault remains present today.
The asking price has been positioned to take this into account, giving the next owner the opportunity to address it immediately or investigate the available repair options in their own time.
The car also has some minor age-related cosmetic imperfections. These include a small dent and scuff to the lower rear bumper, together with a small number of associated marks around the vehicle.
They do not detract significantly from the car overall, but they are present and should be expected from an honest, regularly used performance car of this age and mileage.
Why Should You Buy an Evo X?
The Evo X occupies an interesting place in Mitsubishi’s history.
It was the tenth and final production generation of the Lancer Evolution and the point at which Mitsubishi combined the aggression and capability of the earlier cars with a more substantial chassis, better everyday usability and the option of the rapid SST transmission.
It is still a genuine four-door performance saloon with a hugely capable four-wheel-drive system, strong turbocharged performance and the sort of road presence that very few modern cars can replicate.
Unlike many specialist performance cars, it can carry four adults, deal with poor weather, cover longer journeys and still feel special when the road opens up.
Finding an Evo X is not especially difficult. Finding one that has not been heavily modified, repeatedly changed hands or stripped of its original character is becoming considerably harder.
This car offers:
Only two former keepers
Approximately three years with its current owner
Largely original specification
Completely standard exterior appearance
Original airbox retained
Original exhaust and brake components available
Strong supporting service history
Original book pack and service book
Plenty of accompanying invoices
Useful brake and transmission cooling upgrades
Personalised registration included
Overall Summary
This is a straight and honestly presented example of the Mitsubishi Evo X.
Its low ownership, largely standard specification and accompanying history are all important qualities, particularly in a market where so many Evos have been extensively modified or passed through a succession of short-term owners.
It is not being described as a perfect or concours-level car. It has covered 111, 300 miles, has some minor cosmetic imperfections and has an existing AYC fault that has been clearly reflected within the asking price.
What it does offer is an unusually original-looking Evo X with only two former keepers, sensible upgrades, good supporting paperwork and evidence of worthwhile specialist maintenance.
For the money, we feel this represents a very interesting proposition for somebody looking to enter Evo X ownership, particularly for a buyer who values originality, ownership history and an honest appraisal of the car they are purchasing.
A detailed walk-around video, additional photographs and further information regarding the vehicle’s history are available on request.
