Vehicle History:
Following board resolutions dated 17 August and 2 November 1948, the decision was made to build this vehicle. This is one of the first examples of this model produced at the factory. In 1949, this car served as the exhibition vehicle at the Paris Motor Show. There are numerous photographs of the vehicle on the exhibition stand. Shortly thereafter, this 170 S was displayed at Autoropa Copenhagen.
This car is featured in the motoring magazine "Das Auto", issue 21/ 1994. The Mercedes was registered on 24 September 1949 to Mercedes-Benz. After the shows, the car was sold to Dornas Film Company in Munich Geiselgasteig. Many documents attest to the unique history of this vehicle. In May 1957, the car went to Vienna. The individual registration certificate with evidence of several ownership changes is available in original form. Years later, the car returned to Germany. It was restored here and has been in the hands of the current owner for 11 years. The documentation package also includes an original Baisch luggage set consisting of three cases.
