Introduced in 1962 as the successor to the MG A, the MG B quickly established itself as one of Britain’s most successful and enduring sports cars. Its attractive styling, lively performance and straightforward mechanical specification made it equally suited to weekend touring and everyday use. Unlike its separate-chassis predecessor, the MGB employed a strong monocoque bodyshell, offering improved rigidity and greater interior space. Power was supplied by BMC’s proven 1, 798cc B-Series four-cylinder engine, driving the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox. Rack-and-pinion steering, independent front suspension and front disc brakes contributed to responsive and predictable road manners, while excellent parts availability and enthusiastic club support continue to make the model an accessible and rewarding classic. The early chrome-bumper Roadsters are particularly admired for the purity of their design.
Finished in maroon with a contrasting black interior, this attractive 1967 MGB Roadster is complemented by chrome bumpers, bright body-side trim and painted wire wheels. Its specification also includes a wood-rimmed sports steering wheel, while the accompanying photographs illustrate the car’s appealing overall presentation. A British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate confirms that the MGB was built between 21st and 23rd November 1966 before being despatched on 25th November. He acquired the MGB in 2015 and has therefore enjoyed it for approximately eleven years. Described as fully operational, it is understood to have benefited from various repairs and maintenance during recent years.
