The Porsche 911 Carrera 3. 2 Club Sport, produced in a limited run at the very end of the so-called G-model era between 1987 and 1989, represents one of the purest and most uncompromising expressions of the legendary 911 series. At a time when standard Carreras were gradually gaining weight due to comfort and electrical equipment, Porsche came up with a radical solution for drivers who wanted only the essentials back – mechanics, lightness and precision. In practice, the “Club Sport” designation meant a factory weight-reduction package that stripped the car of everything superfluous. The interior was stripped of the rear seats, some comfort features, sound-deadening materials and certain electrical components, resulting in a significantly lighter and noticeably more agile car. The result is a 911 that feels rawer, more direct and more “racing-oriented”, yet retains the full usability of a road car. Only around 340 units were produced, making the Club Sport one of the rarest factory variants of the G-model and a highly prized collector’s item today. This particular example, with a documented production date of 1987, is exceptionally attractive from both a collector’s and a driver’s perspective. Under the rear bonnet lies a naturally aspirated flat-six engine with a displacement of 3, 164 cm³, which delivers 231 hp in the European specification. Power is transmitted exclusively to the rear wheels via a precise five-speed G50 manual gearbox, complemented by a limited-slip differential that ensures maximum traction in corners and during dynamic driving. An interesting and authentic detail of this car is the period front-axle strut bar from the German company Matter GmbH. This feature emphasises the car’s sporty character and pays homage to the motorsport scene of the time, where similar struts were a common part of chassis modifications.
