Description
Rare Split-Window Volkswagen Beetle from June 1951, recognisable by its two-piece rear window, which earned it the nickname “Bretzelfenster”. Finished in Chestnut Brown, it also has the ventilation louvres specific to the Deluxe versions of the 1951 and 1952 model years.
This Beetle has stayed in the same family since 1971. From 1951 to 1970 it had only one owner, in Holland. It received a full restoration in 1985, with a two-tone paint scheme as found on the convertibles, differing from its original brown finish.
Non matching number. It is fitted with a 30 hp Volkswagen 1200 Type 1 engine. Its number corresponds to an Oval Beetle engine from October 1956.
Kept in a dry garage, it has not been driven for 25 years, so recommissioning will be required before any use.
An opportunity to acquire a classic Beetle with authentic character, in a particularly sought-after Split-Window specification.
Sold on consignment, without warranty.
Viewing by appointment only in Clichy.
