Very nice "Brezelkäfer" which is also a small piece of Denmark's history
Danish car from new has been delivered to J. Madsen in Aarhus
Back in the 90's, a man named Jens has restored a couple of newer Beetles, but thought it could be fun to embark on a real classic VW and since we are in Denmark, it must be one that is Danish from new.
In 1997 he managed to find this car, which did look somewhat tired and needed help, but by virtue of the fact that he had the time to do so, he should have succeeded
Jens is not the type who jumps over the fence and therefore the whole car has been disassembled and rebuilt, to a condition that is incredibly nice
- The body itself has been sanded down and painted in the original colour L51 Bordeaux red
- All parts are painted separately and only installed afterwards
- Engine is overhauled and produces approx. 30 HP
- Complete new wiring harness
- Complete new interior with both carpets, seats (incl reupholstery when they were flat) and new sky
- Lots of new painted chrome parts
- And a lot in between
- Note both the color of the seats and wheels are as from new
So you can probably figure out that it has taken time and the joy was therefore great back in 2014 when the car was finally finished and could visit the inspection hall to be registered again, after a few years the car was sold to a collector who has had it in his private collection until now, where we have received the car in exchange - the car has only a very few run-in km´s since restoration.
Copy of original customs certificate, as well as photo documentation and history of the restoration are included
