This lovely little low mileage Spider spent the first 14 years of its life on the island of Jersey where it was owned by one family. Because of the low speed limits, and the fact that no salt is used on the roads, it was kept in really good condition with very low mileage (37, 000). It was imported to and registered in the UK (all documentation available) during the summer of 2012. Since being in the UK it has been serviced extensively by specialist independent Alfa garages (Alfa Workshop of Cambridge and BLS of Lincoln). During the last two years it has mainly been used during the summer and therefore retains its very low mileage (currently 42, 000).
The specification includes the rare blue/ grey Momo leather seats (which are in extremely good condition) and matching door panels. The spec also includes electric windows, but not air conditioning and it has a manual, rather than electric, roof. When we were looking for this type of car we were keen to ensure that we found one with a manual roof and no air conditioning, as these can be very expensive repairs if they go wrong. Fortunately for us. this example met both of the criteria. As the car was originally prepared for a Jersey customer it does not have the troublesome immobiliser that can often cause problems.
In terms of servicing and new parts, the all important cam belt, variator and auxiliary belt were replaced in August 2012 (less than 5000 miles ago). This service also included new spark plugs, brake pads, badges and door seals. This work was all completed by Alfa Workshop in Cambridge. The front brake hoses and the exhaust were replaced the following year (August 2013) by BLS Automotive in Lincoln. During the last year it has also received a new hood, two new front tyres and a new battery. We have receipts for all of this work, as well as other receipts from its time in Jersey.
It is finished in its original Atoll blue colour with only minor age related marks. However, it has recently incurred a small parking scratch on the rear quarter. It also has a small amount of bubbled paint near to the top of the boot area. (happy to send images of both areas if required). It comes with its original book pack, all up-to-date service documents and the original space-saver wheel and tool kit.
It is taxed and MOT’ed until the end of August and therefore is perfect for those long summer days with the roof down.
