Here for sale we have a nicely presented Series 3 in popular and desirable 'rag-top' configuration - ideal for those summer evenings - it is also subtley uprated to give a far improved ride and cruising speed.
On the outside, the vehicle has a very smart recent soft top, which matches well with the original galvanised cappings on the vehicle, along with the correct period lamp guards front and rear. The vehicle benefits from later Defender-style door mirrors, correct vintage number plates and bonnet mounted spare. A handy addition of a towball and electrics mean that the vehicle is ideal for towing.
On the inside, the vehicle has a nice matching set of deluxe-type seats, seat-belt bar for 3 point seat-belts and as with all our cars is matted throughout. The original hand throttle for the vehicle survives, and is a nice feature which demonstrates the unmolested feel this vehicle brings. The vehicle has had a middle panel fitted for all the lights to be placed in one neat place, including both hazards and fog lights.
On the road, this vehicle pulls really well, with the ride improved by a set of parabolic springs. The addition of an early 90 petrol engine (a bored-out version of the 2286cc which looks identical to the standard unit but gives better power) and the large 750 tyres and Range Rover Differentials allow much more comfortable, high-speed cruising.
In summary then, if you are looking for a nice, tax exempt Land Rover® Series 3 which has an original appearance whilst allowing the ability to keep up with modern traffic, then this is for you. The additional power coupled with the extra gearing and better ride mean you are still getting the period petrol experience, but with much better practical use than a standard vehicle.
