Beschreibung
The Alfa Romeo 1900 is a car of the Italian car maker Alfa Romeo and was produced between 1950 and 1958. At the end of World War II, Alfa Romeo engineers developed the Alfa Romeo Gazella. The car was smaller and lighter than the pre-war Alphas. The Gazella was fitted with a self-supporting body and was equipped with a two-liter engine. Because circumstances did not allow the production of this car, only one prototype was built. In 1950, it all began to look better and it was time to provide the 6C 2500 with a successor. Based on Gazella, the first Alfa 1900's appeared in 1950. The factory has been rebuilt in the meantime and the 1900 became the first Alfa Romeo that was completely built on the conveyor belt. Independent bodybuilders like Ghia and Touring delivered several variants of the 1900s. The Alfa Romeo 1900 was sold as "the family car that wins races." In 1951, Alfa Romeo ended with the Grand Prix race and was decided to pass the race to the 1900s. The 1900 was deployed in several long-distance races such as the Mille Miglia.
