When new, MotorTrend magazine described the 993 Turbo S as the most brutally accelerating, best-handling, best-braking Porsche ever sold in the United States. Unfortantely, only a lucky 181 buyers would get the opportunity to be the first owner. The stock “last of the air-cooled” turbos was already a formidable street weapon, but the Turbo S took it to a new level. The upgraded 424hp engine (M64/ 60 S) launched the S from 0 to 60 mph in a scant 3. 6 seconds and a top speed of 300 km/ h. Further unique differences included as standard:

Although these Turbo S cars came nicely optioned as standard, you could still order a few additional options. This example came with the standard turbo equipment as well as the Nokia digital sound package. The total MSRP was $154, 410. This would be $230, 000 in today’s money. Furthermore, the current owner sourced a set factory original painted back sport seats that just happened to match. They are currently installed. The original black full leather seats are included with the sale (see pics).
This Twin Turbo S was built new in November of 1996 and acquired on April 4th, 1997 by Jim Yark, the owner of Yark Porsche in Toledo, Ohio. Jim never registered the car, but kept it as part of his personal collection for 4-years/ 2k-miles. The first registered owner was a local Orange County PCA member who purchased the car in 2001. He was a friend of ours who was very active in our local chapter. During his ownership, he serviced the car regularly. He kept it for 4-years before selling it to the current Northern California owner in May of 2005 with 9, 100 original miles.
For the last 12-years, this owner/ enthusiast has lightly used the car as he purchased it for his collection. He owned three Turbo S cars at the time as these were his all-time favorite Porsches. Over the years, as his life got busier, he began to release these cars to other enthusiasts. This example was his favorite and it has been a very difficult decision to let it go. Although he only put 500-miles on the car during his ownership, it was never neglected. It was started regularly, serviced, and even fresh fuel swapped frequently. The service history includes:

This Turbo S is in pristine condition. The exterior looks near new with minimal to no signs of use. All the paint is original and verified with a meter. The front and rear plastic bumpers are original paint. The front lower valance was repainted by the Porsche dealer. The glass and rubber is all original including the windshield. The hollow-spoke 18” wheels are wearing their original factory matte finish and are wrapped in their original Bridgestone tires, which still have just under half-tread and no cracks. The interior is equally as nice and fresh. The leather sport seats show no signs of wear. The original seats are also in excellent condition. The carpet, headliner, and door panels all look new. The dash has no cracks or warping. All the gauges, lights, clock, radio, and air-conditioning operate properly.
This Turbo S drives fantastic. It starts on the first try and holds a smooth/ even idle. The power is strong with excellent throttle response. The brakes have great initial bite with no fading or pulling. The steering is crisp and responsive. The tires should be replaced before any distance or spirited driving.
This Turbo S comes complete with an extra key/ switchblade remote, all owner’s manuals including original maintenance book with dealer stamps, two original window stickers, all service records/ receipts from new, factory option code stickers (both hood and maintenance book – never installed/ as delivered by the factory), Porsche touch-up paint, space saver spare, jack with fleece bag, air compressor, plastic tire storage bag, plastic tire handling glove, and tool kit.
