PERFORMANCE PACKAGE:
Opting for the package bumps the 6. 2-liter V-8 to 487 hp, 37 hp more than a stock C63 AMG. Torque remains unchanged at 443 lb.-ft. The extra power brings the C63 AMG Performance Package Plus within 13 hp of its DTM race car siblings, and drops the 0-60 mph time to 4. 4 seconds. Sprinting from 0-120 mph now takes only 13. 9 seconds, 1. 3 seconds faster than a stock C63.
The extra power is largely generated thanks to a few engine parts cribbed from the new SLS AMG supercar. The forged pistons, connecting rods, and lightweight crankshaft come straight from the SLS, and help increase the engine’s power and responsiveness. Although the engines are quite similar, the SLS’s V8, at 563 hp, remains the most powerful of the pair.
The Performance Package Plus also adds a new high-performance braking system that includes carbon-ceramic brake rotors and aluminum hub centers. A new carbon fiber lip spoiler has also been added to help C63 sedans increase downforce at speed.
