In driving condition, needing restoration.
Original 2. 5 litre turbo diesel engine, 5 speed manual gearbox, 4 x 4, factory a/ c, rhd, all original spec.
This is a CKD export model that was originally assembled in 1993 by Leyland's assembly plant in Blackheath near Cape Town, South Africa.
The chassis and bulkhead were factory galvanised and are both in very good condition (see pics). There are a few rust spots on other easily replaceable components. The aluminium body shell is mostly in very condition. Right rear corner has a minor dent.
The interior is complete, original and in fair condition. Engine starts easily, gears select well. New shock absorbers are needed.
The chassis no. & engine no. match the SA title document.
The Defender will be 25 years old in Jan 2017. (Model year code is K = 1992-1993).
Seller can arrange export & shipping to overseas buyer at reasonable additional cost. Have shipped cars to 10 countries since 2000, including the USA. Many references are available.
