I've decided to sell my Lotus Type 61 Formula Ford which has been restored by myself over the last 3-4 years. I was going to keep it however I would need modify it so I could fit in it.
I have tried to keep the car as original as possible, work carried out includes cutting out of bent chassis tubes and brazing new ones in using the original gas fluxing method, re-assembely on a jig. New body supplied in the original one piece style front end, new radiator, new race engine professionally rebuilt, full overhaul of Hewland 4 speed gear box, expensive restoration of original Armstrong shock absorbers, tacho restored by Richmond, reconditioned calipers, new driveshaft donuts, new bearings and rose joints all around, new brake discs and pads.
The car is finished in gloss black with original grey chassis, modern seatbelts and fire extinguisher (needs testing) fitted, I have a professionally trimmed seat (which is even tighter than the stripped one) to include with the sale along with the original Holbay engine block (damaged) and cylinder head.
The car will need FIA papers for certain types of racing.
