We are delighted to present for sale this somewhat rare crossover Series 2a, only manufactured between 1969 and 1972. It sports the original maltese grill and enjoys various other period features including period numberplates (these are the original items), lamp-guards to the front and rear, mudflaps, towbar and bonnet mounted spare. A full set of 750 tyres are fitted which give a pleasing and meaningful stance. Uprated defender style mirrors are fitted aiding rear visibility. The vehicle also benefits from a recent canvas hood.
On the inside, the vehicle is largely standard with 3 standard front seats, with deluxe matting to the footwells and deluxe trim to the doors. This gives the interior a nice feel - a heater is also fitted for those cold winter mornings making it ideal for both summer and winter use. The rear is unfitted but for a load mat however benches could be fitted if so required to increase seating capacity to seven occupants.
Out on the road, this old girl is pulled along nicely by the smooth petrol engine and drives just as it should. The larger wheels assist with gearing ratios making for a slightly more relaxed driving experience.
In summary, if you are looking for a smart Series 2a ragtop, that isn't going to break the bank, then this smart example is work considering.
