The Attractions
Some vintage custom-built cars were created to fulfil the fantasies and ambitions of their lucky owners and skilled coachbuilders. Others, like this one, had a much more practical purpose. Commissioned by Michelin and built by Carrozzerie Fissore, this 1956 1100-103E station wagon was used as a service vehicle for the Giro d'Italia cycling event and is believed to be a one-off.
Finished in light green, it has not been restored and appears extremely original and full of character, endowed with a unique charm. It has many of its own Michelin stickers and accessories, including the famous 'Bibendum'. Inside there is a CB-type radio with an external loudspeaker to communicate with the team. The station wagon bodywork replicates the aesthetics of the updated 103E model, with four doors and a practical tailgate giving access to the large rear cargo area.
The seller informed us that it has not been started, so its next owner may need to check the mechanics.
This striking vehicle would be perfect for a classic car workshop or for a cycling enthusiast with a passion for classic cars. It could be preserved as is or undergo restoration.
