Description
Collectors and investors should keep the following in mind: When it comes to cobras (replicas), the conformity of the French vehicle registration document with what the vehicle in question actually is (manufacturer, year, model, engine) is essential in order to secure your purchase. French legislation (FFVE) is very strict when it comes to replicas: to be eligible for a French vehicle registration document (Collection), a replica must be more than 30 years old (date of manufacture), must no longer be in production, and must be in its original condition. By applying this rule imposed since 2014 by the French government and the FFVE, very few replicas are admissible in France. An informed buyer will therefore have to ask himself questions about the true legality of cobras with 1965 or 1966 .. 67 registration documents (unless this cobra costs 2 million and is therefore a genuine original Shelby cobra). Similarly, if a cobra from a modern replica brand that began production in 1995 or 2000 is for sale with a registration dated 1982 or 1986 .... these cobra replicas are to be avoided because their registrations are fraudulent. Generally speaking, cobra replicas with a normal vehicle registration document are to be avoided because 99% of replicas do not have a European or French certificate of conformity (except for forgeries) .... and must therefore be the subject of an "Réception Titre Isolé" (RTI) with the French mines department (UTAC & DREAL) ..... In 99% of cases, these departments do not issue such certificates for cobras. This is why it is almost certain that a cobra with a normal vehicle registration document has fraudulent "Bidon" papers. The French government has recently launched an anti-fraud campaign against bogus registration documents. There are currently a number of cancellations of vehicle registration documents and heavy sentences being handed down. The Cobra we are offering here is a genuine collector's vehicle that will be sold with its FFVE collector's certificate and French roadworthiness test. This 1992 Cobra was produced by one of the most industrialised replica manufacturers of the time: CLASSIC ROASDTERS (now defunct). Its extensive range and industrial organisation even allowed it to appear in American television commercials (CF vintage video on our website). Built with improved comfort and handling in mind (wheelbase lengthened by 4"), our example arrives in superb condition from the outside, thanks to its recently redone paintwork. This Cobra comes with some great options: ORIGINAL TOP + soft side windows and an optional 5735cm3 engine with around 300hp (the base price included a small 4948cm3 with 225hp). For collectors who are not keen on the custom look of 17" rims, which greatly improve roadholding compared to 15" "balloon" tyres, we can put you in touch with a Hallibrand wheel cutter who can make custom 15" or 17" rims (budget 1400 euros for 4).
