Motors Corner is offering this 1959 Austin Healey 3000 MK1 BT7 for sale: This Austin Healey was the marque’s first roadster with the famous 3-litre inline-six engine that brought so much fame to the model. It is the ideal English gentleman for hair-ruffling drives in the countryside. This Austin Healey underwent a restoration in 2001 to the bodyshell, upholstery, transmission and engine and has since been regularly serviced. It was subsequently maintained on a routine basis. Mechanically: the car starts in quarter-turn bursts. In very good mechanical condition, the car is sound, driving is easy and the gears can be shifted smoothly and freely, and the brakes are powerful thanks to the front discs. Twenty years ago a restoration was carried out; the engine was renewed with an unleaded cylinder head, the linkages, axles, shock absorbers and brakes were renewed.
The MOT is up to date and has shown no faults. Exterior: the bodyshell is in very good condition, the paintwork is overall very good, the wheels and tyres are in good condition.
