The history of the Land Rover Series 3 The Land Rover Series 3 is an iconic all-terrain vehicle and a direct descendant of the very first Land Rovers introduced in 1948. Designed as a rugged, reliable and indestructible working machine, the Series 3 has earned a reputation as a vehicle capable of pushing the boundaries, both literally and figuratively. With its angular design, simple mechanics and uncompromising off-road capabilities, it became a favourite with adventurers, farmers, expeditions and even armed forces around the world. But this particular Land Rover is no ordinary Series 3. It's a modified version of the 88-inch short-wheelbase variant, powered by a powerful 3. 5-litre Rover V8 engine. A real beast, combined with a strengthened front axle and improved brakes, offering a driving experience unheard of in the Series 3 family. The car also has differential locks, overdrive and just the right amount of - no frills here: just pure mechanical driving, as it was meant to be. It is fitted with new tyres (only a year old), heated seats, small rear seats, overdrive and a soft top. Door windows are also included, allowing you to choose between a free and open ride or protected from the elements. The driving experience: raw V8 passion Climb aboard, turn the key and listen to the 3. 5-litre V8 roar with depth. This isn't just an off-roader, it's a machine you drive with heart and soul. With its four-speed manual gearbox, short wheelbase and impressive torque, this Land Rover delivers a driving experience in its own right. It's raw, authentic and full of sensations. On a country road or through a wood, you can feel the power of the V8 beneath your feet. Thanks to the relatively light weight and colossal power, acceleration is brisk, while the sound of the engine rewards you with every touch of the accelerator. And with the differential lock and overdrive, this machine becomes a conqueror of difficult terrain, without losing its speed on the road. An unforgettable adventure Some cars are chosen with the head, others with the heart. This Land Rover Series 3 88 V8 undoubtedly falls into the latter category. We experienced it for ourselves on an epic journey to the ** Goodwood Revival Festival** in England. It was an adventure that epitomised everything this Land Rover stands for: passion, emotion and unrivalled driving pleasure. The four of us set off for the ferry to England. The Land Rover was loaded down with equipment, jackets and a few cigars for the British atmosphere. Arriving in the UK, the car returned to its homeland. As if on cue, the sun broke through the clouds - a rarity in England. We removed the roof, lowered the windscreen and blasted Clapton and Oasis through the speakers. The start of an unforgettable adventure. No motorway for us - that would have spoilt the experience. We drove through picturesque villages, green hills and roads lined with old stone walls. At Bradfield, a row of students in traditional uniforms watched us pass, astonished by the roar of the V8. Smiles, bows and a little throttle to get their hearts racing. After an hour, we reached London. And then the magic really began. Windscreen down, sun shining, cigars lit - pure freedom on four wheels. At Chelsea, every stop attracted a crowd. Tourists, Londoners, even taxi drivers stopped to watch us. Photos, selfies, conversations... We felt like rock stars in a time machine. After countless conversations, ranging from classic car enthusiasts to fashionistas asking us if we were making a film, it was time for lunch. And then the rain. England is England. Fortunately, we had planned ahead with the soft top. The atmosphere remained intact. Even in the rain, the journey was magical. Wet roads, grey skies... but the V8 continued to roar. There were still five and a half hours to drive to Goodwood. The motorway? Too mundane. We continued along the back roads, winding through the English countryside, savouring every bend, every hill, every surprised look. After four and a half hours, faster than expected, we arrived in Goodwood. Our friends were waiting for us, fish and chips in hand, in the local pub. We got out of the car, stretched, looked at each other with a knowing glance... We'd done it. Man and machine, raw power, pure emotion. A victory, as if we had conquered an arena. The weekend was a dream: races...
