Description
This Bentley Turbo R RHD (thus right-hand drive) comes directly from Barry Gibb's collection, the lead singer and last surviving member of the Bee Gees, the mythical English disco-era group known worldwide.
Barry – knighted by the Crown in 2018 – was a great enthusiast of fine cars and owned, among others, a Lamborghini Countach, a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III convertible, and more recently a Bugatti Veyron.
Having amassed a colossal fortune during the 70s and 80s, he established his main residence in Miami, Florida where he still lives and where he regularly drove with the twin sister of the car we are offering today, a black Bentley Turbo RT which he parted company with a few years ago.
Our Bentley Turbo R is a first-generation model – in the view of many, far more reliable than later models because it has much less electronics and, above all, lacks the infamous "ride control" that caused so many problems...
This car was kept in the garage of his house, which he still owns in Buckinghamshire, using it sparingly on his rare trips back to the country so that today it has just 33, 600 miles, about 54, 000 km.
It goes without saying that having remained in the hands of our illustrious last owner for the past 37 years, the car remains in exceptional condition, cherished as it should be.
The car comes with its English registration document in the name of the singer, its blank English MOT certificate valid until May 2026, its service book, etc.
Note that the air conditioning is still on R12; a conversion to the new gas is therefore to be expected, roughly €1, 200.
Visible in Mouscron near Tourcoing and 15 minutes from Lille by appointment only OR in our Ashford showroom in Kent, 20 minutes from the Channel Tunnel.
