Description
History of the Fiat Dino Spider 2000. Launched in 1967 as the open-top counterpart to the coupé, the Fiat Dino Spider 2000 is a particularly fascinating chapter in the history of Italian automotive engineering. Born from the collaboration between Fiat and Ferrari, the Spider was not only to embody sporting elegance but also to enable homologation of the Ferrari V6 engine for Formula 2. The Spider’s design was crafted by the famous Pininfarina and, like few other models, embodies the Italian dolce vita of the era. The heart of the Fiat Dino Spider 2000 is the 2. 0‑litre, 160 bhp V6 engine built by Ferrari, which proves easy to rev and full of character. This engine was also used in the early Ferrari Dino 206 models – a technical jewel that Pininfarina dressed with an elegant roadster body. The engine was complemented by a five-speed manual sports gearbox, which gave the Spider extremely agile road manners. The Fiat Dino Spider 2000 is a perfect example of the harmonious interaction between racing technology and a stylish leisure vehicle. Its classic lines, combined with refined details such as chrome fittings, the wood steering wheel and leather equipment, make it one of the most coveted vehicles of its era today. Despite its qualities – and no doubt precisely because of its exclusivity – the Spider remained a rarity on the roads. Between 1967 and 1969, only around 1, 133 examples of the Spider 2. 0 were produced. With the introduction of the more powerful 2. 4‑litre model, the “little” Spider was finally replaced – but its charm, its sound and its stance have remained unforgettable to this day. A Fiat at the heart of Ferrari – the Dino Spider 2000 is a timeless classic of Italian automotive art. Vita de la Fiat Dino Spider 2000 (SSC-637) This magnificent Fiat Dino Spider was first delivered to Milan in June 1968 with the registration MI-F70216. In 1971, it was sold to Francesco F. d'Ancona – registration AN150264. In 2013, this Spider was completely restored by the Dino specialist, the Efferreci Service company (Carlo Caselli), near Modena. A beautiful restoration book provides information on the significant work carried out, which was completed in 2015. Via a Turin dealer, this perfect Dino was sold in 2019 to a German classic car collector and has since covered a maximum of 4, 000 km. This is also why today this vehicle still looks as if it has just rolled out of the factory. The paint, mechanics, interior and soft top are in excellent like-new condition. A 2023 appraisal attests a grade of 1- and a replacement value of €157, 000. A magnificent Fiat Dino Spider awaiting its new owner in excellent condition to share new adventures. Summary The Fiat Dino Spider is not an ordinary car – it’s a promise. A promise of Italian style, indomitable passion and the sound of a true Ferrari heart. At a time when technique and perfection often take precedence over character, the Dino Spider stands on the roadside like an elegant rebel and whispers: “Driving is more than moving – it’s emotion.” With its Maranello V6 and Pininfarina-signature design, this car is an ode to the golden age of the automobile. It blends elegance with true sportiness, shows curves where others show only lines, and rings out like an Italian opera evening under a full moon. Rare, desirable, irreplaceable – the Fiat Dino Spider is not just a collectible piece, it’s a slice of Italian cultural history on wheels. And yet, even if its value rises, it only asks to be driven. Roof down, winding country road, sunset somewhere in Tuscany – it was built for this. “È un’auto che fa ******* il cuore” – a car that makes the heart beat. And that is precisely what makes it unforgettable. Note: We are selling this Fiat Dino Spider on behalf of the owner (brokerage). This offer is non-binding and subject to in-between sale.
