Description
Overdrive is pleased to offer for sale this icon of the automotive world: a Jaguar Type E in roadster form!
This is a 1970 model, the Series 2, fitted with the famous XK 4. 2-litre six-cylinder engine.
This Jaguar has been in France since 1987.
It presents in a Pale Yellow livery typical of the 1970s, paired with a handsome dark Olive green leather interior, rather rare on this model.
Overall condition is good; the paintwork having been redone a few years ago.
The chrome and wire wheels are also in good condition.
The cabin shows a light patina that lends some character to the handsome green interior.
The black-coloured hood is in good condition but shows a few signs of wear.
Exterior: Pale Primrose (original colour Regency Red)
Interior: Olive leather
Engine: 6 cylinders, 4. 2L DOHC, 245 bhp
First registered: 1970
Gearbox: Manual, 5-speed
Mileage: 35, 000 km on the odometer
The car comes with a history file and its Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.
It recently benefited from a complete top-end rebuild in our workshops in 2025.
For improved road manners and versatility, a five-speed gearbox has been installed.
Thanks to its stunning styling and highly capable mechanicals, the Type E left a mark on automotive history and remains one of the most desirable classic cars.
Series 2 represents an interesting compromise between the earlier, quite “brutal” series and Series 3, which is less sporty.
This example, with original spec and a rebuilt engine, is a fine opportunity to own a piece of the Type‑E myth.
Vehicle viewable by appointment.
