Description
The MG Midget is undoubtably a classic roadster that is very pleasant and seductive. This very compact two-seater is a treat for the eyes, but thanks to its short wheelbase, it is a very fun and agile car to drive. And like all MGs, this Midget is also very easy and enjoyable to handle. This is especially true for this 1976 model, equipped with its delicious and powerful 1500 engine.
This elegant roadster was originally delivered to the United States in 1976, and then arrived in the Netherlands in 1998. It was then subjected to a complete and meticulous restoration. During this restoration, the car was not only fully rebuilt technically, but it was also repainted in the superb Old English White colour. This stylish colour pairs perfectly with the black leather interior. The bodywork is in excellent condition, and the chromes and trim are bright and in very good condition. The seals and rubber finishes are also in perfect condition. The body panels align perfectly, and the doors close solidly and correctly. This MG Midget is fitted with perfectly matched Minilight alloy wheels and a stylish luggage rack fitted to the tailgate. The hood is also in very good condition.
The interior is in remarkable condition. The faux-leather seats are immaculate, comfortable and offer excellent support. The dashboard is in very good condition as well and all the instruments function correctly. The chromes and trim are also in perfect condition. The compact leather steering wheel provides a firm and pleasant grip. A convenient mount on the dashboard is provided for a portable navigation system (supplied with the car). The original car stereo works perfectly.
It is clear that this car has been maintained with a great deal of care and attention. Under the bonnet lies an engine in excellent condition and the car handles superbly. The four-cylinder 1, 493 cc engine offers enough power for a sporty and enjoyable driving experience. The steering is precise and, thanks to its short wheelbase, this Midget is very agile. Braking is effective and the gear change is exceptionally smooth. A nice sporty rumble escapes from the *** exhaust, so the radio is superfluous.
