Austin-Healey 3000 of 1960
FIA HTP valid until 2034
A versatile racing car perfect for competition.
Fully rebuilt in 2025 and ready for 2026
In the early 1960s, the Austin-Healey 3000 was the symbol of British automotive excellence, marrying rugged engineering with timeless styling. Designed by Donald Healey and equipped with a powerful 3. 0‑litre inline‑six, the “Big Healey” was aimed at both road use and competition. Its long bonnet, muscular stance and simple, driver‑focused cockpit made it an instant classic. With impressive power in its most potent guise, the 3000 was a force to be reckoned with on both circuits and rallies.
The car’s heritage endures today, particularly in historic motorsport. The Austin-Healey 3000 remains a staple at events such as Goodwood and Le Mans Classic, where its distinctive roar and classic lines evoke the spirit of 1960s racing. Its timeless design and competitive pedigree keep the “Big Healey” appealing to enthusiasts, bridging the gap between the golden age of motorsport and the modern era of historic racing.
The car we are offering was built in the Netherlands in the 1990s to the era’s strictest standards, with a engine and parts supplied by Denis Welch. It became famous under the name “Rijshouwer Healey”, owned by “Fast Freddy” Rijshouwer, who drove it, the fastest Healey on the continent.
The current owner purchased the car in 2023 and commissioned a full rebuild by Pandelaar Historic Racing in the Netherlands. The mechanical rebuild was followed by setup and fine‑tuning by Jack Rawles, a Healey ace, who demonstrated the car’s speed and handling at the Goodwood Members’ Meeting in 2025. Later in 2025, the car took part in the Modena Cento Ore and did not miss a beat.
