Capots Vintage presents this very beautiful MGA 1500 Cabriolet, one of the most iconic English roadsters of the late 1950s.
As evidenced by its British Motor Heritage certificate, our example was originally delivered new in the United States in April 1959. It today presents itself in excellent overall condition, having benefited from a full restoration carried out with care and attention to detail.
This MGA stands out with a very elegant specification, pairing an Old English White body colour with a Bordeaux leather interior. The four wire wheels, painted in the same Bordeaux shade, further enhance the car's character and give it a particularly original and refined presentation.
Under the bonnet lies its original 4-cylinder 1, 489 cc engine, fully rebuilt, paired with a new four-speed gearbox. The package contributes to the driving pleasure of this MGA while boosting its reliability.
This restoration encompassed both mechanical and cosmetic aspects. The bodywork was, in particular, stripped to allow a complete restoration to the highest standards, while the chassis was treated with an epoxy coating. Many body components were also replaced with new parts.
The Bordeaux leather interior, the mechanics, the gearbox, the running gear and the braking system have all been fully overhauled, now yielding a particularly sound, coherent and reliable example. We have a substantial file of invoices and numerous photographs documenting the work undertaken.
The car is supplied with its black PVC hood and its Bordeaux alpaca tonneau cover, perfectly matching the interior.
