Description
We are pleased to present to you this June 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250 SL “Pagode”, delivered in cabriolet configuration with a removable hard top, in a blue 335H exterior and burgundy interior.
We have a complete history dating back to 1968, confirming that this Pagode has only had three owners from Lyon. One of them cared for it for almost forty-eight years, from 1970 to 2018, before it joined its current owner.
The 250 SL model, produced from late 1966 to early 1968, is notable for its inline six of 2. 5 litres developing 150 hp, as well as the introduction of rear disc brakes and a higher torque, which provides smoother driving while preserving the handling characteristics of the “Pagode” lineage.
A notable feature of our model is that it left the factory new with the precious 5‑speed ZF mechanical gearbox (option code 232); less than 5% of production were factory‑equipped due to its significant extra cost, giving a notable driving pleasure.
Its coachwork has been recently repainted and sports Bleu 335H, harmoniously paired with the burgundy interior: an elegant contrast that highlights the line drawn by Paul Bracq, characterised by its concave‑section roof (hence the nickname “Pagode”) and balanced proportions.
Inside, largely original, the Mercedes heritage is tangible: burgundy leather upholstery, wood trim on the dashboard and central console, a refined cockpit blending functional simplicity with noble materials.
We have its hard top, colour matched to the body, and also the rollover arch system with a new black Alpaca fabric top.
The vehicle has always been maintained rigorously with recent work including: differential overhaul, gearbox service, clutch, steering unit, front suspension, the entire braking system, front and rear dampers…
Trade‑in possible against your collection or prestige vehicle.
