Description
Porsche 356 Coupé Pre-A with split rear window from 1951 – early production model delivered by D'Ieteren.
In 1950, D'Ieteren signed an import contract with Porsche, becoming the fourth importer outside Germany. In 1961, D'Ieteren obtained authorisation to assemble cars near Brussels, Porsche Germany lacking sufficient production capacity.
This particular example was therefore imported but not assembled in Belgium.
The car is in excellent condition and features the famous split rear window (Geteilte Frontscheibe, a provisional solution, curved glass manufacture being very complex and costly at the time), a legendary version, all the more so as it was produced for a short period.
- Imported and delivered by D'Ieteren;
- Built during Porsche's first full production year in Stuttgart;
- Distinctive Pre-A design with a sharp roofline and a minimalist dashboard;
- Period-correct interior with unique detailing;
- Lightweight construction with a Volkswagen-derived chassis, optimised by Porsche engineers;
- Elegant, iconic bumpers, hand-formed body panels and parts;
- Split-rear-window models from this era are increasingly rare and represent an excellent investment in a challenging market;
This car hails from a pivotal period in Porsche's development – ideal for collectors, historic events or classic car rallies.
A unique opportunity to acquire a piece of authentic early Porsche production history.
If you can't find the vehicle you're looking for, please contact us.
With our extensive international network of clients and partners, we can assist you in your bespoke search.
Whether you're seeking an exceptional model such as a Ferrari F40, F50, a Porsche 959, or any other rare vehicle, we put our expertise at your service.
We also offer historic vehicles, including World War II-era models.
Are you looking for a classic car, a contemporary vehicle, a motorcycle or a boat? We are at your disposal.
We also maintain a specialist network for vintage aircraft and helicopters.
Regarding the vehicles we have for sale, we offer worldwide shipping solutions.
A vehicle registered in the EU can be easier to register in France.
Conversely, a vehicle imported from the United States will need a roadworthiness test beforehand.
Any required repairs will then be carried out.
As it is impossible to determine all defects in advance prior to a full inspection, we charge at an hourly rate, plus parts, as is standard in most professional garages.
We can, of course, provide an initial estimate based solely on visible elements.
Non-visible elements cannot be reliably estimated.
We can also, on request, register your vehicle in France, Germany or the Netherlands.
We also offer detailed videos and live video calls to present the vehicle transparently.
We are currently actively seeking the following models:
* Renault Alpine GTA Le Mans in blue
* Porsche 912 Softwindow Targa in black (originally black, not repainted)
* Ferrari F50 in yellow
Finally, if a vehicle has a Dutch registration, a valid roadworthiness test, and is in good mechanical condition, you have the option to drive away with an export plate.
