Aston Martin ** V8 Volante (cabriolet) EFI from 1988
This is a Series 5, hence equipped with fuel injection (for more power and lower consumption...), i. e. the last series of this iconic model hand-built in aluminium, produced in only 216 examples between 1986 and 1989.
This model came with standard the superb 15-inch aluminium BBS wheels as well as the long-range headlights in the grille.
The car was delivered new in the United States in October 1988 and repatriated to Germany as early as April 1990, in the hands of a distinguished professor of oncology, and has resided for the past 25 years in the prestigious collection of an English lord, well known to the marque’s enthusiasts.
The vehicle comes from his estate and is currently undergoing a comprehensive overhaul. It will be available from 26 June, but may already be reserved.
The car remains in good condition and sound, having been maintained by its personal mechanic until his death and used very regularly (not surprisingly, this Volante was the favourite car of his collection), having toured a large part of Europe on board, i. e. 38, 000 km in the last 25 years, which makes a very respectable and reassuring average of 1, 500 km per year.
In 2005, the car participated in an event at Windsor Castle, thus parading in front of Queen Elizabeth II of England and Prince Philip.
Original "Dover White" paint, a refined off-white with Connolly ruby red leather upholstery and white piping, of absolute elegance. Walnut burr veneers, Wilton carpets, etc.
The beige vinyl hood remains in excellent condition as does the matching tonneau cover to the upholstery.
The file contains a large number of technical inspection certificates attesting to regular use and upkeep in roadworthy condition. The file also includes a horsepower figure measured on a test bench at 307 bhp DIN.
Delivered with English registration, a current MOT and recent servicing, the vehicle will be viewable from 5 May at our premises in Smarden near Ashford in Kent, 25 minutes from the Channel Tunnel, OR on request at our Mouscron warehouse near the Franco-Belgian border close to Lille.
