Description
For sale or part-exchange for an Opel Rekord C coupé. If you’ve got one, it’s a chance to upgrade and go from a 4-cylinder to a 6-cylinder.
In short:
- 1977 Opel Commodore B coupé
- 2. 5L in-line 6-cylinder engine, 115bhp, with single carb
- 25, 537km currently on the clock (may increase)
- French « CG collection » in my name
- « CT » (roadworthiness test) OK for under 6 months (since February 2026)
- Chassis = restored (major work carried out, photos available)
- Mechanical = set up and perfectly functional
- Steering = made reliable (replacement of many parts)
- Bodywork = satisfactory condition, several paint defects where it’s peeling, but no rust (photos available on request)
- Interior = kept as-is, with seats from a Commodore C, plus headrests and 3-point front seat belts
- Other various repairs carried out since purchase (fitted a driver’s side window because it was missing when I bought it, replaced the bearing and the transmission-shaft silentblock, changed the spark plugs, engine oil change etc.)
I’ll answer questions and I can provide photos. I’ve done the bulk of the work, including major and costly jobs on the chassis, engine and steering.
Rekords are worth less than Commodores, so if there’s a part-exchange, your car should be at least in as good condition as mine: not perfect, but roadworthy with an up-to-date « CT » and with no perforating rust.
I can also accept a trade for an Admiral or Diplomat converted to LPG. Foreign paperwork isn’t an issue for me.
