Description
1978 Ferrari 308 GTS (Spider), in good working order.
Finished in its original “Rosso Corsa” red, with a beige leather interior and fully working air conditioning.
It’s fitted with the magnificent and distinctive large front spoiler seen on the Ferrari 308.
Its four twin-choke Weber carburettors deliver a powerful, captivating soundtrack from above 4, 000 rpm, rising to a veritable roar at 7, 700 rpm—the hallmark of this model as it left the factory in 1978, before fuel injection was introduced to the Ferrari 308 in 1980.
Only 70, 000 miles on the clock and just three previous owners.
This superb Ferrari 308 GTS, with immaculate bodywork, left sunny California for even sunnier Greece a few years ago, driven by the Greek mechanic who bought it in the United States and still owns it today.
Its maintenance has been handled by him, alongside a specialist workshop, and it’s in excellent running condition.
The 308 GTS is equipped with a removable black Targa roof that, once taken off, stows behind the seats.
The stunning Ferrari 308 GTB/ GTS was designed by the legendary Leonardo Fioravanti, then famed for his work at Pininfarina.
He’s also credited with some of the finest Ferraris of the 1970s and 1980s.
Shown at the Paris Motor Show in 1975, the Ferrari 308 GTB/ GTS celebrated its 50th anniversary last year.
At its 1975 launch, the famous driver Bob Bondurant said: “It’s the best sports car I’ve ever driven!”
