Originally supplied new in New York, this superb Type E Series 2 4. 2 Litre Convertible now presents in an elegant ‘Light Blue’ specification with a ‘Dark Blue’ interior and hood, in keeping with its original specification as confirmed by its Jaguar Heritage certificate. Its Jaguar Heritage certificate confirms that it is a ‘Matching Numbers’ and ‘Matching Colours’ example, retaining its original engine, gearbox and axle. Fully restored over the past five years, this Jaguar has undergone a restoration of the very highest quality. The bodywork has been carefully addressed, the panel alignment is excellent, the paint has a beautifully taut finish and the overall presentation reflects the seriousness of the work carried out. The chassis has been cryogenically treated, providing additional protection and durability. The entire mechanical specification has been restored, including running gear, transmission, suspension, braking, cooling system, ignition, carburation and more. The engine is now fed by three Weber carburettors and paired with a stainless steel manifold, giving particularly pleasant running, a sweeter mechanical note and a more sporting, expressive character. The original parts accompany the car. The interior has also been fully restored using quality materials: the seat trim, carpets, interior panels and hood are all in very fine condition. Today this Jaguar E-Type runs perfectly. It drives and brakes in a straight line without any unwanted noise. The engine starts easily hot or cold, builds revs with good oil pressure and produces no smoke. All four gears of the gearbox select smoothly and without any graunch.
