Description
For sale, June 1983 Porsche 944 Phase 1, fitted with the 2. 5-litre Porsche engine producing 163 bhp. 56, 189 km showing on the odometer, with a history that allows the mileage progression to be tracked since the first available MOT test. The earliest MOT on record dates from March 1993 and shows 42, 228 km (see Histovec photo). The MOT certificates retained allow the mileage progression to be followed over the years. There are no MOT records before this period, as MOT testing for private cars was not yet in force. Any earlier history can therefore be assessed from whatever documents may be available. The car has always been kept in a garage. The bodyshell is sound and free from corrosion. The bodywork is in its original paint and shows a few small stone chips consistent with its age, none of them serious. I would rather keep this 944 in its current condition than try to make it look artificially original: it retains its authenticity and its character as a 1983 car. Servicing and recent work: A service has been carried out and several major jobs completed: • Timing belt • Water pump • Auxiliary belts • Oil change • Battery • Aluminium radiator • Rear shock absorbers • Stainless steel expansion chambers • Stainless steel silencer. MOT up to date. Equipment: • Speedline wheels • Original wheel set included • Collector's registration document (Carte Grise Collection). A few items were added by a previous owner, notably the steering wheel, some audio equipment and a few body parts. These are visible in the photos and are disclosed in full transparency. History and documents: The car has two known owners. Available: • Histovec • MOT certificates • Service invoices • Documents relating to the work carried out. The file can be presented to the buyer to allow a fully transparent transaction. A Phase 1 from 1983 worth preserving. This 944 makes a particularly interesting basis for an enthusiast seeking a sound, lightly used and well-documented classic Porsche. Its main strengths are its 1983 year, its low mileage since 1992, its original paint, its lack of corrosion, its garage-kept life, its history since the 1990s and the numerous mechanical jobs already completed. It can continue to be enjoyed at club runs, rallies and historic vehicle events, or simply kept as a collector's car. Viewing by appointment only. Full file available for inspection.
