HERE is my excellent MGB GT in Vermillion (orange to you and me) and I will state from the start that it's a devil of a colour to capture on film, especially in this hot weather.
THE CAR IS MUCH BRIGHTER, SHARPER AND ALTOGETHER MORE ATTRACTIVE IN THE FLESH AND VIEWING IS RECOMMENDED TO PROVE THE POINT!
She's in fabulous order for a rubber bumper GT which of course is why I bought her. Really sound, very straight underneath, great engine bay and boot area and a super driver. She was treated to a top quality re-spray just last year, purely to freshen her up as the rest of her was already so good. She has a current MoT until June 2019 although before then, she will become tax and MoT exempt.
So many of these are being converted to chrome bumpers these days, but this is how they were meant to look and they are a much better driver than the 1960s GTs. Overdrive on 3rd and 4th works fine. Nice interior with good dash and body colour floor pans. Original "deck chair" seats too. Altogether, a top example at a great price.
No rot, grot, bad door bottoms, sills or arches. Look at the door bottoms themselves (not the outside skins) and they are superb. Rarely are RB GTs as pleasing on the eye as this fine example.
Remember that these old girls are motoring antiques. Practically every one of them will have been subjected to work at some time in their long lives and they are bound to need more love and attention in the future. Context is all with classic cars. Please do not run your finger over them and compare them to your wife's new Chelsea tractor! On-going work is virtually inevitable with all of them. I do not put them through a garage "test", nor do I drive them for months on end. They come in and they go out. I feel that I have become a "re-homer" of motoring antiques. They leave me with no warranty either given or implied. They are too old for that! You may spot something of which I know nothing. It happens.
I accept all major debit/ credit cards and can also assist with delivery and so please ask for a quote. Thanks, Martin the details below).
