Description
Very rare, only 2 ever build, Sarcon Scarab, Mini based sportscar. For sale on behalf of the current owner, who ownes it since 1998.
This Scarab is one of the 2 ever build by Sarcon Limited UK. It was build between 1969 and 1972. This one is the fiberglass car that was registered in the UK. Unfortunatly the papers are no longer with the car. The second car was aluminium bodied and still remains in the UK.
The car is based on a terrapin chassis, with classic Mini running gear. The chassis has been restored, all aluminium body panels have been replaced (old ones still with car). The Sarcon is rather complete, engine, gearbox, steering rack and colunmn, lighting, brakes, etc. All the typical Scarab parts are there, such as the doortops with their windows, the roof (although ones cut off to make it into a targa), backplate with taillights, the aluminium air vents, etc. Missing is the front windscreen surround, but that is a standard classic Mini frame, so should be easy to get.
This is the blue car as featured in Jeroen Booij's book: Maximum Mini. Check his webside - details above for the article.
Feel free to contact me for more information. Any offers will ben forwarded to the owner, as he thinks it's time the car is finished and showed to the public. It is now stored in Vlissingen, The Netherlands.
