MOT until 10th January 2019 and exempt thereafter. Tax exempt. 200TDI. Rebuilt onto a galvanised chassis. Previously sold by us.
Here for sale we have a very tidy ragtop Series 3, rebuilt in recent years onto a new galvanised chassis. Being a 1971 model it enjoys tax exemption, and is also due for MOT exemption too.
Externally there are vintage number plates, lamp guards, defender mirrors for better visibility, a recent canvas, early "razor" bonnet, a towbar with electrics, a full new set of tyres and a pair of mudflaps. The bodywork and paintwork are of a good standard too, so it looks good up close too.
The interior is nicely appointed with deluxe seating and cubby box, deluxe matting and a seat belt bar with inertia reel belts (nice to have). Even the rear is fitted out with a smart pair of bench seats, so the whole family can be transported if required.
The engine conversion is very neatly done, and was fitted professionally, so the under bonnet experience is just as pleasing as the rest of the vehicle. A switched kenlowe fan keeps things cool.
Out on the road, this Series 3 does not disappoint....."Chad", one of our experienced mechanics described it as "rapid!" These conversions, with turbo, are great fun to drive, and make a huge difference over standard - more reliable, better power, better fuel economy etc etc. This vehicle is therefore better suited to motorways than a standard S3.
In summary, this is a high spec soft top vehicle - enjoying many features - exemption from road tax and MOT, soft top for summer fun AND winter driving - whilst still being a great looking and very solid vehicle!
