The RWD Mk3 needs no introduction, these special cars are very iconic and come with a fascinating history. This particular example is even more important indeed, she is an original Genesis works car, serial # 021 she is one of thirty-six cars ever built by the company. Genesis also produced 150 kits that they sold to privateers who wanted to build their own RWD Mk3 on a budget, however many of these cars were built very poorly and the kit did not include many strengthening sections that the works cars had, and where nowhere near as good as the cars that were built in house.
What is very interesting is that we have recently been in touch with the engineers who worked on this car when it was built and they have confirmed it was built from a brand new Ford shell. Some people believe that the gartrac Mk3 was a better car, however more people would argue that the Genesis cars where better as they had the exact same wheel base as a Mk2 escort and that they handled much better. The gartrac cars had a longer wheel base...
