Here for sale we are delighted to present this very early build date Series 3, being just the 89th ever produced (chassis number 00089A).
On the outside, this vehicle is largely standard, with lots of pleasing period features such as rear grab handles, rear mounted spare, front lifting eyes, galvanised bonnet catches and vintage numberplates. There are some modern additions, such as the larger defender style mirrors mounted to the doors, to aid visibility whilst driving, and a rear working electrics point. The vehicle sits on a matching set of larger modular wheels and tyres, giving a nice stance and additional rolling diameter to aid gearing and increase cruising speeds. The rear crossmember has been recently replaced with a brand new item, which is good to see, and really sets off the exterior look.
The inside benefits from a great deal of deluxe trim items, such as the full carpeting set and the door cards - this aids with sound deadening and makes the interior a more luxurious place to be. A set of recent front standard seats are fitted too. The dash is in good condition - usually at this age they suffer with sun cracking, but this is not the case here - a rare find nowadays.
Out on the road, the larger rubber aids with the driving experience, and this vehicle stops and goes just as it should. The diesel engine starts with minimal glow and smoke, which clears quickly when up to temperature.
In summary then, if you are looking for an early, tax exempt and MOT exempt Series 3, then this could be for you. The pleasingly standard appearance, coupled with subtle modern additions make this vehicle more useable, and with classic insurance, it should prove to be good value, whilst being a solid investment for the future.
