Description
Reluctantly selling my MK3. 5 three door. Change of job and needing a 5 door car forces sale.
Overall a very solid car with just a smidge over 46k on the clock. When I got it it was missing a few minor trim items, was suffering with failed locks and was sitting on some fairly awful alloys. I've now sourced and fitted the missing trim, replaced all the locks (car comes with 2 complete sets of keys) and it's back on its original steels with original trims, all of which are in good nick and the tyres are virtually new.
MOTd until December, starts first time every time and drives really well.
Bad points are a small amount of surface bubbling on the passenger side rear arch, a small chip in the windscreen (but it has passed the last few MOTs like this and hasn't got any worse), drivers seat is a little tired but perfectly serviceable, both door cards have suffered delamination of the backing which is a shame as the upholstery on them is in great nick. I do have a set of better door cards which can go with the car but the trim pattern isn't an exact match. It could do with the rear window rubbers replacing as they are perished but they don't leak.
I bought this car because it was almost totally unmessed with and how many base spec 1. 1s do you see now in good nick if at all. To my mind it's a survivor and worth preserving as it is but of course it would also make a good solid shell for a project if you so wished.
Car is located near Glossop, SK13, just east of Manchester or just west of Sheffield depending on your perspective. Any inspection welcome.
